2015/2016 SEASON

Well....... we could not quite live up to last season's success, but he had another great year here at Hull Farm. We still had 50 winners operating at a 15% strike rate and won over £450,000 in prize money. Unbelievably this was from 50 less runners than the season before. However with the horses having a mid-season break they have stayed in training that much longer and our season with the horses did not really finish until the end of May - in May we had 11 winners to bump up our numbers. Hopefully they will be 11 more winners to making the 2015/2016 season a record breaker year for us here.

There were three or four highlights to the season. The first was Kilcooley's Grade 2 win at Fontwell in February. His form throughout the season was fantastic and he is now rated 161 - the highest rated horse that we have ever trained. Kalane's listed win at Newbury was another highlight and even her third behind the great Annie Power was exceptional. It is well documented that she has not been easy to train, which makes her achievements that much more special. The final highlight is more of a personal one, but it is the huge improvement from Grandads Horse at the age of 9.....He was always a good horse, but he now seems to have a big handicap in his grasp next season. I should not forget to mention Kilfinichen Bay. He made last Summer for us with his four wins in quick succession going up 34lbs in the weights!! We have plenty of exciting youngsters to look forward to including Our Kaempfer, A Vos Gardes, Wilberdragon, Promanco and Midnight Shot who will now have to step up in grade and I would be disappointed if they cannot take their owners to some of the bigger meetings.

We have trained over 330 winners in our 6 years here at Hull Farm, but we want many more.We need to get back to the 78 winners we had the season before last and our £450k in prize money won needs to rise to well above the £500k barrier. Like with all fairly new yards we are looking for ways to improve and take the next step up the training ladder, so this Summer we are putting in a 2 furlong circular gallop which will be a fantasticaddition to our facilities and give the horses a bit more variety in their work and in their schooling....

We have an growing team, who are extremely dedicated and ambitious. We pride ourselves on relaxed, happy, healthy horses and believe this is shown in the results. We have a fantastic set of owners, most of whom have been with us since the early stages of his career and they help to make Charlie Longsdon Racing a very close knit team.

If you would like to become part of Charlie Longsdon Racing, please get in contact, as we would love to see you and show off our new and exciting yard!!
