Alan Roche – Head Lad
Roche joined us in 2008 as Head Lad, having previously worked for Jonjo O’Neill in the same role for 14 years. He is an excellent horseman, and his knowledge of the horses is superb. He is in charge of the horses’ care and maintenance in the yard as well as making sure all the staff know what they are doing. Roche also breaks in our young horses and does a brilliant job with them.
Emma Batten – Racing Secretary
Emma has now been with us since 2009, she is a huge asset to our team! Having previously worked as a racing secretary for Jonjo O’Neill. She set up the office when we moved to Hull Farm and keeps things running smoothly, she also does the accounts and rides out.
Rachel Lander - Assistant Trainer
Rachel has rejoined us here at Hull Farm, her previous role included riding out, overseeing the feeding and assisting our Head Lad. She will now be representing Charlie at the races, communicating with and entertaining owners. She will also carry out a variety of office duties throughout the day when not racing including running the social media accounts.
Lauren Hay - Secretary
Lauren has arrived with us having spent six years at Jonjo’s. Lauren regularly rides out the mornings, at the moment her favourite horses are Imperial Jade and Zestful Hope. Nothing is too much to ask of Lauren and she is always happy. She will also attend the racecourse with a variety of horse's when needed to help!
Isobel Snowdon – Travelling Head Groom
Issy previously worked at Dan Skelton's & Harriet Dickin's, she has great experience in driving the horses to the races, turning them out to a high standard. Issy brings vibrant enthusiasm to our yard and is a great fit to our team here at CLR, when she is not racing Issy will be joining the team with riding out.
Lilly Pinchin - Stable Jockey
Lilly joined as Charlie's conditional jockey back in 2022 and rode out her claim in November 2023 to turn professional. She is a very dedicated individual who comes in 2 times a week to work and school the horses, between riding out at other yards during the week. She has ridden numerous winners for CLR over the last 3 seasons, aboard the likes of Midnight Jewel, Molto Bene, The Dark Edge, Big City Roller, Maninsane etc. We look forward to successful 24/25 season!
Elizabeth Gale - Conditional Jockey
Elizabeth joined us at the start of the 24/25 season as our conditional jockey. She has gained a huge amount of experience at Philip Hobb's Racing over the past 4 years, with her most notable winner at Aintree in the veteran's handicap chase last season. We look forward to her riding some winners for us this season!
Georgia Brearey - Stable Staff
Georgia finally joined the team full time four years ago, having ridden out on Saturdays for the past few years while studying at school. Nothing is ever too much of a problem, and she is a lovely quiet rider. Georgia is a huge asset when being entrusted to do ‘flat work’ with the horses, rides work and cares for the horses like no other. There is never a day Georgia doesn't have a smile on her face and we love having her around!
Macy Genco - Stable Staff
The life and soul of the yard! Macy joined us in January 2024 on her return to the UK after a summer in Australia. She previously worked for Graham McPherson and Fergal O'Brien, before heading to Australia to work for Feek Racing. She has also ridden winners in point-to-point as an amateur jockey.
Hannah Jones - Stable Staff
Hannah has joined us after re-locating, she previously worked from Jemery Scott's and is a great addition to our team! Hannah is a quiet rider who is brilliant on different types of horses, we are delighted to have her here. She will be attending the races and riding out in the mornings.
Megan Hunter – Stable Staff
Megan arrived here having previously worked for Jonjo O'Neill and David Griffiths. Megan is a very smiley face to have around the yard and is a great addition. Megan’s role will consist of riding out and attending the races with her horses.
Sarah Hache - Stable Staff
Sarah is one of our happiest member off staff! She is always smiling and puts so much love and care into her horses. She grew up in Argentina and moved to the UK when she turned 18. She has previous experience working in polo, eventing and racing so has been a great addition to the yard, her favourite horse in the yard is Catuaba!
Abigail Smith - Stable Staff
Abigail has joined us after completing a course at the British Racing School, she has a brilliant work ethic and is great to have around the yard! Abigail will be riding out in the morning and will be attending the races to lead up her favourite horses when they run.
Zeniy Glyebov - Stable Staff
Zeniy is a crucial member of the staff, able to turn his hand to repair most things, as well has helping with the mucking out, bedding up and any general maintenance around the yard. Zeniy is a massive asset to the team, he is always happy and can turn his hand to anything.
Vadym Masik - Stable Staff
Vadym is in his eighth season with us, he is a good yardman and in charge of making sure all the bedding up is done in the yard and the hay. Vadym can fix and handle just about anything, himself and Zeniy work as a great team that we appriciate having everyday.
The main team is supported by regular work riders Gill Anderson and Tom Hutsby.
