It has been extremely quiet on the runners front over the past few weeks. Everyonesgame was our only notable runner recently. He went to Market Rasen for the big Summer hurdle. Annoyingly it rained all morning and the ground went too soft for him. It was a lesson learnt and he will not be running on slow ground again in the near future. He will now have a slight break before running in a big handicap at Kelso in September followed by heading to the Persian War Novice's hurdle at Chepstow in Ocotober.
With the rain still around, the next few weeks will remain quiet on the racecourse, but things are quickly getting busier back in the yard. 40-45 horses are back here in work and a few more are doing the pre-training elsewhere. They will slowly come back over the next six weeks. It is not normally until September that all the horses are back.
Here are a few photos of the horses back in work... Many thanks to John Holton for four professional looking photos!!
