It was great to get back in thew winners enclosure last Thursday at Fontwell. It has been a long last couple of months with minimal runners and no winners, however Book of Tales righted that wrong in impressive fashion. As you will have seen from previous posts and blogs that he is a great jumper, so the instructiuons were to keep it all simple and let his jumping win the race. Apart from one scary moment where a loose horse ran across him in front of a hurdle, he jumped beautifully and won by a very comfortable 6 lengths. He might not have beaten a 'star studded' field but he won in a very promising manner and he will only improve. There is still a 10% share available in this exciting youngster, so please pick up the phone and give us a call... To make it even more exciting, he will now head to Bath for a £30,000 flat race which he is handily qualified for (thanks to his previous trainer Charlie Johnston!). He will then go back and try to win another Juvenile under a penalty, but chasing is certainly the long term plan for him - exciting times!
With no other runners, we will now be quet until If I Say bids to improve on her placed form this SUmmer. I am considering stepping her up in trip and that will be at either Uttoxeter next Wednesday or Worcester the following weekend.
