CASTLE ROBIN delights at Doncaster

24 February 2022

A smart round of jumping from Castle Robin secured his victory in the Novice Chase at Doncaster under Sean Quinlan. He jumped and travelled strongly, putting in a nice performance to win going away. We are thrilled for the Bradley Partnership, and a big well done to Rachel who rides this horse out everyday and knows inside out. We now stand at 40 winners for the season, six of them being in February. The horses continue to run well, and we are hope they keep it up.

Glencassley, who won best turned out, was unlucky at Ludlow yesterday when rallying before falling at the last. It was an unfortunate and possibly showed a little inexperience when falling. However, it was great to see him run a strong race and he will come on for the run next time. Tea For Free put up a nice performance when finishing third in the Maiden Hurdle at Ludlow, it was encouraging to see him stay on to the line, something he has not done previously, and this shows that the wind op has helped his performance.

Charlie is off to the Cheltenham Sales this morning to get a good look at the stock. There are some nice P2P horses entered up, so hopefully we can come away with another addition to our string. Any last minute orders a willingly taken!

Tomorrow Shah An Shah heads off to Warwick with Kane on board in the Hands and Heels Conditional Jockeys’ hurdle. Off the back of his last performance, we are hoping for a strong run. Carlow Farmer makes the trip down to Exeter with Lilly Pinchin on board, having won last time out he has gone up in the handicap to 118, but he should still put in a nice effort. Just Your Type will make the journey up to Newcastle tomorrow afternoon ready for racing on Saturday. He runs in the Eider Chase.

Hereford may be too soft for Train Hill on Sunday, and therefore we might not have any runners. If I Say and Freethinker are in at Catterick on Tuesday, with Largy Nights and Rivarros in at Leicester.

On another note, our thoughts are with Ukraine who are experiencing horrific and terrifying events.
